ROLE BRIEF
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HR Manager to oversee all aspects of human resources operations, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with Labor laws. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of HR best practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- HR Operations & Administration
- Manage the full HR function, including contracts, policies, onboarding, and exits.

Oversee payroll processing, leave management, and benefits administration.

Ensure compliance with South African labour laws.

Maintain accurate HR and employee records.
- Recruitment & Talent Management

Lead the recruitment and selection process across departments.

Develop job profiles and assist management in interviewing and candidate selection.

Drive talent retention and succession planning strategies.

Performance Management
-
Implement and manage performance review processes and KPIs.

Guide managers in employee coaching, goal setting, and feedback.

Support disciplinary and grievance procedures fairly and effectively.

Training & Development
-
Identify training needs and coordinate upskilling programs (Media Xpose Academy).

Manage internal and external training sessions, workshops, and employee growth plans.

Employee Wellness & Culture

Develop and execute wellness programs, engagement activities, and team-building events.

Promote a healthy, inclusive, and collaborative company culture.

Oversee recognition programs and internal communication initiatives.

Strategy & Reporting

Contribute to the development of HR strategy aligned with company goals.

Prepare HR reports and insights for leadership decision-making.

Manage HR budgets and contribute to overall operational efficiency.
REQUIREMENTS
Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management or related field.
Minimum 5 years’ proven experience in a generalist HR role (preferably within media, creative, or publishing industries).
Strong working knowledge of South African labour legislation.
Experience with payroll systems (e.g., Sage)
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
Proven ability to manage HR processes independently.
