TIGHTENED COVID-19 SCREENING IN SCHOOLS, COMPANIES & RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS
Johannesburg, 27 May 2020 – The nation is preparing to go back to school and work according to Level 3 Lockdown Rules and Regulations from the 1st of June 2020 amid mounting outcries over the critical shortages of personal protective equipment (PPE), ventilators, and other medical supplies the country is currently facing. There are also concerns around schools, companies and religious organizations’ abilities to maintain social distancing when pupils, employees, and congregation members return as of the 1st of June 2020.
IDC Band has come up with a solution for companies, schools and churches to use wristbands as part of their Covid-19 screening procedures and processes. Tyvek wristbands are normally used at events, conferences and festivals, but the IDC Band team is recommending that organizations use them for Covid-19 screening as well to tighten their screening and minimize the spreading of the virus.
Security/managers/supervisors/teachers can easily check at a glance to see who has been temperature screened that day using wristbands. This can lead to a reduction in the spread of the Covid-19 virus within schools and organizations, increase attendance, save organizations money in the long run, and ultimately save lives due to minimized spread outside of the organization’s premises. Different colour wristbands can be used for different days, as well as for different departments, divisions and work roles. Upon arrival, all employees/ learners/ congregation members/ contractors/members of your organization should be tested to check for high temperatures. Those who have high temperatures should then be denied access and referred to medical professionals/sent home – or as per the organization directives. Those with normal temperatures will be a given a wristband to indicate that they have been temperature screened and cleared for that day.
This can reduce the chance of anyone slipping through the net with screening and also prevent anyone deliberately avoiding being screened due to being sick and wishing to continue to work/attend or simply not wishing to be tested.
