Siyanda Dlamini is a celebrated South African hotelier and entrepreneur. His latest acquisition is the boutique hotel and venue, River Meadow Manor in Irene. The luxurious venue is another feather in the cap for Dlamini who is looking forward to adding large scale conferencing and wedding capabilities to his extensive property portfolio and Level 1 BEE hotel management business, Tribute Hospitality Group.
River Meadow Manor has a setting rich with history as a property previously owned by Jan Smuts. The hotel feels like a country escape with lush green pastures and 100-year-old oak trees, yet remains conveniently close to two major city centres and is just 20 minutes from OR Tambo International Airport.
Siyanda is a highly accomplished offering businessman with 20 years of demonstrated expertise in the all-round management of hotel operations from both a business and leisure travel perspective. He is a focused leader; dedicated to quality, efficiency, and customer service. The River Meadow Manor acquisition is close to his heart as it culminates in several of his passions; intimate and boutique hotels, community projects, interior décor and established gardens.
Siyanda has previously held the position of General Manager at various Protea Hotels around the country and was then Sales and Marketing Director at Fortis Hotels before launching The Regency Apartment Hotel in 2018. He began his career as a trainee at the age of 18, made General Manager at 25 and was appointed Director at the age of 33. He is now known as the face of transformation in the South African hospitality industry and frequently represents South Africa as part of the SA Tourism delegation on international visits.
“I am thrilled at acquiring River Meadow Manor. It has been a family run operation for years and I look forward to continuing the personal touch that has resonated through the hotel.’ says Siyanda. 2020 will see the launch of an exclusive 250-seater venue designed for premium functions, the 350-seater multipurpose conference venue, and a bespoke wedding chapel that is soon to be constructed. River Meadow Manor aspires to be traditional yet contemporary, offering an exceptional guest and client service offering. Another passion of mine is youth development and creating careers, not jobs – this is yet another great platform to do this – not only within the hospitality industry but in the areas of sales and marketing, training and development and financial management,” he says.
A graduate of the Cape Town Hotel School, Siyanda enjoys international travel, cultural experiences, architecture and trends in interiors. He is passionate about social inclusion, youth development and upskilling.
